Threat Analysis |
Example Nuclear Projects |

The
commercial nuclear industry has matured significantly
over the last decade. A continuous improvement in
culture has led to substantial increases in capacity
factors and human performance indicators, and a
correspondingly significant decrease in outage durations
and unplanned shutdowns. The open market in which
generating companies compete today is far different than
the highly regulated environment in which the industry
evolved. In addition to its vital role in power
diversity, nuclear power is proving that it can be
competitive in an open marketplace. To meet current
goals, plants must operate more safely and reliably but
with lower costs per kilowatt.
Nuclear power generators
are meeting these goals with reduced, albeit better
trained staffing. Even with a skilled engineering
organization, however, it is inevitable that specialized
engineering services will be needed to support
short-term priorities. WPE was created to fill this
need. WPE offers an alternative to larger, less
responsive Architectural Engineering Companies (A/Es) by
providing expert technical services at a competitive
cost.
WPE’s team has extensive
nuclear power experience ranging from hydraulic and HVAC
system design, plant startup and system engineering,
toxic gas analysis and Control Room Habitability, to
design and licensing basis assessments. Beyond its core
strengths, WPE has leveraged capabilities through
teaming arrangements in areas such as organizational
assessments and process improvement.
As a technical services
organization, WPE recognizes the importance of being
accessible and responsive; that is, responding to the
needs of our clients in a timely manner. Whether your
needs call for a conceptual study or detailed analysis,
WPE will provide unsurpassed service. |
